1)  Contact your local Better Business Bureau. Check the company BBB rating.  Don't deal with non members or those with poor grades.

2) Avoid the old "left over materials" line. Someone stops by and says they have some materials left over from another job they have just completed and will offer you a great price right now. Reputable contractors calculate materials carefully and seldom have more than a small amount of "left over" materials, never enough to do another entire job.

3) Look out for price units. Watch out for contractors who are bidding your job by how much material they will use. Such as someone who bids your sealcoat job by the gallon or your asphalt work by the ton. Stay away from these guys. A good contractor gives firm bids with a "total" price.

4) Beware of the non-local. Does it really make sense for a contractor with out of state plates to be at your door or office. If someone is working outside of a 100 mile radius, beware!

5) Does your deal sound to good to be true? It usually is!

6) Do not be afraid to ask questions. Know what you are getting and for what price. If they will not answer your questions call us, WE WILL!
